Thawed breast milk in fridge - still good?

About 48 hrs ago, my DH took 16 oz of my BM from the freezer. He had decided that he was going to be more hands-on and start giving our DS a bottle more often. Well, that's fine except that we still have about 6 oz that we haven't used. Is it still ok to use it since it's been in the fridge for 2 days? It went straight from the freezer to the fridge and it took almost a day for it to thaw completely.

I think its ok. Go to https://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkstorage.html and there are guidelines to follow regarding BM, storage, thawing, and heating/reheating.

Scratch my previous "It's Ok." According to what I just read from the link I shared, thawed BM must be used w/in 24 hours. Sorry, such a waste I know.

Fresh breast milk contains live white blood cells which makes it very resistant to bacterial growth. That's why you can leave the fresh stuff out for hours or in the fridge for a week. Once you freeze it, you kill those cells and you have to be a lot more ginger with it. So, unfortunately it's not good anymore. As other folks have said, once it leaves the freezer, it has to be used within 24 hours.
