I love all of your pics with LO's holding the lights. I want to give this a try...any tips from your experience? I guess I have to take it with the lights off and flash?
I'm no photographer, and I took my phone with an iPhone 4 and edited it with a Photoshop app. I love how it turned out, but obviously better pictures can be taken with a real camera.
I put Aria in the "outfit" that I wanted her to wear, laid out the lights on the floor, and had hubs plug them in as soon as I sat Aria down. I snapped as many pictures as I could before she decided they were "boring". Hubs tried to help me keep her attention... but in the end I loved the picture in my siggy the most.
I did have all the lights off in the room, but I think you could have a soft light on if you wanted. No flash.
Oh, and I know a lot of people have said that they didn't do the photo because of lead in the lights. I bought new LED lights, and they contain no lead. Just check the packaging of whatever lights you get. For the record, I did the picture before I realized that my lights were lead-free. Even if they weren't lead-free Aria was exposed to them for about 5 minutes and then I plunked her in the bath tub. It just wasn't that big of a deal to me.
A 'hard' floor works better than a carpeted floor...or so it was with my experience. Don't do a completely dark room, maybe a little lamp on for a little bit of light. And no flash.

Mine came from Walmart, because we're not lucky enough to have a Target here in Podunk. I'm pretty sure you can get them at Target too.
