Scooter, balance bike, etc for 2yo? (RP from 24+)

"Santa" is considering getting DD a mini-kick scooter and helmet for Christmas (but man, is that expensive!). If I do, I know her 2 year old little brother will want something similar.

What would be good for a 2 yo to use a little this winter when there's no snow, and then in spring/summer?

Any helmet brand recommendations for either the 4 yo or 2yo? TIA.

We have the jr razor scooter, which is also a three wheeled scooter. My 2 yr old loved it last year! Now that he is 3, he is getting a 2 wheeled scooter since he borrows his brothers and is really good with balance on it.

Callum got his balance bike (we have the Strider) at 2 and change - he still LOVES it. His first helmet was just one from Amazon with bugs on it (don't recall the brand); we've upgraded to a Nutcase once he outgrew that one.

This, but DS got his at 3. We got a helmet fitted at a bike store. He has a pirate version of one of these:

and is about to outgrow it, so he'll be moving up to a kid version.

DD has tried out the Strider and doesn't like it yet. DS probably would have at 2, but he's a much more physical kid than she is. The Strider was AWESOME for the transition to a two wheeler. DS was riding it in about 5 minutes, and was confident within 30 minutes. No training wheels.

Santa is bringing him a 3 wheeled scooter. We have a balance bike (for DD). He really isn't into it yet, but I think it will be good for him this summer when he is 2.5
