How was your weekend?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Almost nothing.  Saturday I took JB to a friend's birthday party and Sunday one of the dogs went to the groomers.  That was seriously it.  The rest of the weekend was spent hanging around the house, paying bills, sleeping, watching tv.

  • Friday - L decided not to go write this weekend, since she's had bronchitis and still wasn't feeling great. I picked up the kids from school and argued with L on the phone because she was being silly and irrational. :P

Saturday - The kids were up at 5:45am and I attempted to keep them quiet until 8 so L could sleep. Went to the Stride Rite outlet to get the kids new sneakers, which was a clusterf*^@ since 90% of the sneakers lit up and they aren't allowed to have light up shoes at school. The three pair that they did have, the kids had already had before and they wanted something new. Sigh. L and I got into a fight again en route to the  Aviation Museum where we went to see Santa fly in via helicopter. The kids did some crafts and looked around the museum, but it was packed and the line to see Santa was really long. Went to lunch, home for the kids to watch a movie and I could nap, and then dropped the kids off at Parents Night Out. We were finally able to talk without kids around and ended up having a good discussion and a nice dinner. We went to Toys R Us, Target, and the bookstore and bought most of the the kids' Christmas gifts. Stayed up too late watching DVR.

Sunday - I got to sleep till 7am. Whoo hooo! We went to the outlets before they opened so we could walk, went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, went to Wegmans, and then home. L and the kids decorated the outside of the house while I took down all 22 window blinds so they could come install the new blinds today. We went to buy wreathes and then spontaneously decided to go get a tree. Put up wreathes, got the tree in the stand, and got ready for the week.

  • My partner and I are doing DIY xmas gifts this year, so we went out and bought all our supplies and the stuff to make up our gifts for people.  Last night we went on a crazy cooking frenzy and made up treats for people -- we ran out of a few ingredients so I'm off to bulk barn today, but it's so good to feel nearly done early :)

We also went to a local xmas market with my lesbian aunt and her (maybe/maybe not) girlfriend/friend... that was great, I love hanging out with my older queer role models :)

  • Friday: at a birth

Saturday: at a birth. Got home in the evening and was deliriously tired. Forgot that we got a new stove and was excited to see it in my kitchen. Slept.

Sunday: slept in and watched some recorded shows with C. Prepped and then went and taught a private cbe class to a very sweet family. They gave me really great feedback and that felt good. Had a good client interview meeting. Came home to our crazy Sunday tv show night.

Oh, and I got a bfp.

  • Friday: Dinner and drinks with two of my dear friends that I worked with in my old office. Lots of laughs and good times.

Saturday: I woke up to discover it wasn't raining. So I spent about 4 hours outside doing various end of the season work in the yard. In the evening I drove to A's to see her when she got home from work, she'd worked 23 hours in the previous 2 days. We had wine and snacks and chilled on the couch.

Sunday: Brunch with A before she had to head back to work. Then I headed home, did chores and shopping and called it a night.

  • Friday - I had a follow up OB appointment for the PTL scare earlier in the week where baby A decided he was ready to meet the world (why I haven't been as active).  I found out I am still about 1cm dilated but not effaced so yay I made it to 28 weeks but was officially placed on modified bed rest until my next appointment (Dec 10th).  My OB was nice enough to give me a pass to attend my baby shower. M did a pretty big happy dance over this as she has been swearing I was pushing it too far.  I have a feeling some form of bed rest is where I will be for the rest of this pregnancy if I want to make it 37 weeks. I just hope I can stay on modified so I am not confined all day but I will do it if it is necessary as baking these boys is most important.  I also took my issue with babies r us to the corporate level but that has proven no results.

Saturday - Had M's families baby shower for the boys.  We got a ton of the things we were still missing.  I was left to sit with my feet up in a reclined position for the entire shower so that was frustrating as I really wanted to mingle.  It's not like me to sit still.  We got home and rested for a few hours and then went to a Christmas party for a friend.  As part of my modification on bed rest I am allowed to be up on my feet 5 hours a day (broken up) so my OB was also fine with this.  Too bad my body wasn't and we only stayed about an hour as I was miserable.

Sunday - M told me if I stayed on the couch with my feet up, after the Texans game (11-1 woo hoo!) we could go to target to do the returns we needed from the showers and get the last few things we need.  We only were able to make it to return the things as the walking to do that was enough.  We then came home and I used the credit to order the things we needed online.  I sat on the floor in the boys room as well and nested some more with sorting their things to see if we were missing anything else.  I am happy to say we either have everything or it's been ordered.

  • Fri: Finished wrapping the Christmas gifts and watched some DVR stuff with my mom.

Sat: Tumbling then home to clean house. My friend K came over and we took Ky to the festival of lights at the zoo. It was amazing! Waited 30+ minutes to see Santa with Ky talking about it the entire time...we get to the front of the line and she cries hysterically and refuses to leave my arms. Waited even longer to ride the train which she enjoyed immensley. I will call the trip a win lol. She passed out in the car and I know she was super tired since I got her out of her coat, changed her diaper, and put her pjs on her and she never stirred once...I stayed up too late reading.

Sun: Breakfast and general lounge around the house things. My mom and I were going to go shopping after Ky's nap but when she still had not fallen asleep by 2 we went ahead and left the house. The stores were CRAZY! Went home and finshed making dinner. Watched a Christmas movie with Ky after her bath and for some reason the 2 days of no naps left her a non sleeping kid. It took over an hour and her coming into my bed for her to pass out. It took me turning my back to her (on the outside of the bed) and ignoring her completely...

What I fell asleep to last night:

Ky sings twinkle twinkle little star "mama, are you awake mama?" while patting my head/arms/back, Ky resumes singing twinkle twinkle little star, Ky burps, "Ky burped, scuse me mommy. thats so silly", Ky resumes singing, Ky pretend burps....repeat about 20 minutes *sigh*

  • I had a pretty good weekend!

Friday: We didn't end up doing much. I picked M up from work at 8pm, we picked up some dinner on the way home and sat on the couch watching DVDs of a TV show until way too late into the night.

Saturday: Slept in a little then went to the giant outlet mall so M could buy some party shoes for her Christmas party that night. We managed to get her shoes AND a pair of jeans for her in under an hour. I was pretty impressed. I dropped her off at a book store and went to my acupuncture appointment - it was FABULOUS. The acupuncturist was so great, friendly and calming, and the session itself was very relaxing. She wants to see me weekly until I start prometrium so I rebooked for this coming Saturday. She put the pins in then left me for about 20 minutes so I used the time to meditate and visualise a quick conception, easy pregnancy and natural delivery. I don't know if it will help anything at all but I felt great afterwards so I'll call it a win :)
Saturday evening we picked up her work-husband B and went to their office Christmas party. I didn't enjoy myself all that much but everyone seemed to have a good time. After we dropped B home we went back to our place and finished the TV show DVDs we were watching Friday.

Sunday: Slept in again, spent some time vegging out then went up to the mall to pick up some random things we needed (wrapping paper and tape, nail clippers, etc. Y'know, the exciting stuff). We spent the evening catching up on the PVR while I wrote out our Christmas cards.
