Hi ladies,
I'm getting ready to go to a conference for 3 days next week. I'm still nursing, but unfortunately bring LO is not an option. I'm planning on pumping as often as I can (right now I pump 5x per day...not sure if I can keep that up, but I'll do what I can), but I was wondering if they would give me any problems for bringing home milk when I'm not traveling with baby. I know I can carry on BM or formula when DS is with me (done that before) but has anyone carried it on without having a child with them?
Thanks!
Re: Flying with BM
I went through La Guardia with 3 days of EBM in October. Due to a fluke I had to clear security twice, and had two very different experiences. I printed the TSA guidelines and took them with me just in case. Things to know....freeze your ice packs on the way there, even though you have no milk...they checked for this at DFW. The first security checkpoint did literally nothing, I told them I had EBM and thet xrayed it on the belt and I went on my way. The second one passed each bag through a bomb scanner.
I also pumped on the plane, with a manual pump, under a blanket. I would like an award.
Whenever I see BM.. I think of bowel movement.... just sayin'!!
