Stupid PA driver!!

We were at a holiday party for my Dad's company in Philly this afternoon.. on our way home, with DS in the car, some STUPID lady rear ended us!!! It wasn't hard, but enough to make the entire car jerk forward and cause DS to cry from being startled awake..

It happened right along side of a shopping center, so DH pulled in, figuring the dumb B who hit us would do the same.. NOPE, she sped off!!! Her and her Lexus took off!! I was SO ticked!!!

Thankfully, we're all fine, and there's almost no damage to my car (just a few small dents on my bumper where her front license plate spot hit us).. but, still!! Who the effff does that?! I couldn't believe she didn't even pull in to make sure we were all fine!! Ughhhhhhh. Stupid!

And, worse part.. because she was a PA driver, there was no license plate on the front, so we didn't even get a plate #!

In the end, we're just so thankful that DS is fine.. I coulda smacked this woman, though!! Seriously! And, when we called the cops, they didn't seem to be interested at all in the fact that she hit us and then decided to speed off!!

Ugh.

Oh that sucks! What a cow. Are you gonna go through your insurance for a new car seat? Or just buy a new one so you don't have to deal with insurance at all?

I was in an accident last year and we got a new seat for DD. but this sounds like a fender bender so you probably don't need one. Maybe call the car seat manufacturer to be sure.

Oh, and about the driver, karma is a ***!!!

Yes, it was very mild.. DS's carseat barely moved.. just a little jerk forward... nothing more than what happens when we're putting him in and out anyway! Plus, we're switching him up soon.. he's too heavy to keep in the infant seat! I was more ticked that she'd hit us and then take off without even having the decency to make sure we're all okay!

car seat makers and insurance both say to replace after any accident at all.

What a jerk! I'm so glad you're all OK. What kind of person just drives off without checking to make sure you're not hurt?

I'm surprised the cops weren't interested; I had a minor hit & run last year and the police came out and took a statement.

Like PPs said, karma is a b*.

Glad you guys are ok! I'm with mrs.ike. Get a new car seat. Your insurance company will write you a check for the cost of the current seat and you can use the money to purchase whatever seat you want. DH has been involved in a few accidents and even if the kids aren't in their seats, we have still gotten new ones. You can never be too safe when it comes to car seats.

This. Sorry you had such a rough night - people are such idiots on the roads, especially lately around here. I try to drive as little as possible because of it, to be honest. Glad everyone is okay though!
