Seriously. I wrote a nearly 300 page dissertation and it was easier that writing this bizarre "Dear Birthmother/Expectant Parent/Hello" letter. I'm glad computers were invented or I'd be drowning in a pile of crumpled up paper.
It's like a bizarre genre that feels overly formulaic and just plain horrible. I spent two days reading examples of these from my agency and I wanted to bash my head against a table.

Sad, but true! I'm writing my dissertation now. I thought I would work on the Dear Birthmother letter when I needed a break from dissertation writing, but quickly figured out that the dissertation was easier than that crazy letter.
