This is pretty much the same birth plan I used last time, with the exception of the c-section piece. If anyone feels like reviewing it I would be happy to hear suggestions! Thanks! Oh and in the real birth plan the font is bigger and there's more spacing between bullets, I plan to have the c-section part on a separate page.
Birth Preferences
We request:
- To
decline routine IV prep upon admission
- To
decline discussion on pain tolerance and pain levels
- That
staff honor need for quiet and refrain from references to ?pain?, ?hurt?
or any offer of pain medication unless requested
- To be
free of blood pressure cuff between readings
- In the
absence of medical necessity, only intermittent monitoring of the baby?s
heart with doppler
- Minimal
number of vaginal exams and to NOT be told how dilated I am
- Father
to announce the sex of the baby
- Allow
baby to remain with mother and/or father for bonding for 1 hour
- To
decline baby?s first bath

I found it helpful last time to not be locked into the numbers, I guess my thinking was, "I will be done when my baby is in my arms." It served me well last time, but it's something that I could easily change in the midst of everything. Thank you for adding a different perspective to this!
