Hi ya'll im Aria! I am a student right now studying special education I have a 3 yr old daughter who is the love of my life she is expressive, beautiful, loving and silly. She also happens to have down syndrome.  Being pregnant at such a young age with her was difficult I was a high schooler raising a special baby and trying to support the both of us while dealing withthe rough start little miss experineced.In the begining I was pissed, I was scared, I was dissappointed, I didnt know if I could be the mom that I wnated to be and that she deserved. If you asked me today If I could change the fact that she was born with DS. My answere would be an immediet no, she is perfect sure she cant talk as great as everyone else I dont care she talks perfect to me. She may not be toally potty trained yet but she tries so hard. Accidents happen besides I love those trendy pull ups!! :) I hope that I can be apart of this group and share some of our life with ya'll and get to know some of your kiddos and the struggles they may face,

    Welcome, I knew a young women who got pregnant in freshman year of college (with an IUD) I believe, and the little girl had DS.  I always remember thinking how well she handled it (this was probably 5 years ago..) little did I know..lol 

    Their are a couple mommies here whose LO's have DS.
    DD1(4):VSD & PFO (Closed!), Prenatal stroke, Mild CP, Delayed pyloric opening/reflux, Brachycephaly & Plagiocephaly, Sacral lipoma, Tethered spinal cord, Compound heterozygous MTHFR, Neurogenic bladder, Urinary retention & dyssynergia, incomplete emptying, enlarged Bladder with Poor Muscle Tone, EDS-Type 3. Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

    DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3
