Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Hi!

My kiddo just turned 9 months, as seen in my siggy ticker.

Crazy how fast they grow, isn't it? I can't believe I'm already here. Seems like just yesterday I was lurkin- unable to imagine my newborn doing these things, but here we are.

May I ask what your kid's diet is? I need food help. This is also posted on my BMB (Feb12). Thanks!

  • Hi and welcome,

what kind of food ideas do you need suggestions for? Types of food? schedules.routines? solids vs milk?

My just about 10mth old has BM four times a day, and drinks once in the nights. Does 3 solids meals, and her mid-morning milk is turning into more of a snack and I've started giving her a drink, and then offering her a little snack after.

In terms of what feed her, she's on straight finger foods now (except yoghurt and porridge for breakfast), so pretty much what we eat: veges, meat, pasta, bread, eggs,  soft/cooked fruits, cheese, fish etc etc etc

We did a mix of purees and finger foods from the start.

  • Asher eats a lot of what we eat, I just don't add much salt unless I add it to individual portions after cooking. Some of his favorite's lately have been chicken gumbo, roasted cauliflower with turmeric, baked haddock and hummus on ww crackers. I make oatmeal with different fruits, cooked down until they are soft but not liquidy. Also, steamed sweet potato fries are easy and healthy. I really like to cook and basically I just take whatever I am making for dinner and portion a part of it for ds that's not excessively spicy/salty (he likes some spicy but I worry about reflux). Also, I add wheat bran and flax seed to a lot of my recipes for the extra vitamins.

  • He doesn't seem too interested in eating real human food yet. I don't know, it's really inconsistent over here. He prefers purees over human food sometimes, and other times he prefers the human food. Other times, he just won't have anything! I suppose all I really need to do is keep practicing.

I guess it's taking a minute for me to get used to the whole idea too.

    He doesn't like puffs.

Things he likes so far: Graham Crackers, Cheese, bananas, toast, and waffles.

Everything else he hasn't been too thrilled about.
