I feel like one of those really ignorant people on 1st Tri that usually get flamed off the board for asking questions like this, but anyone know how effective (or ineffective) the Mini-Pill is if you forget 2 days and have unprotected sex the first day that you forgot to take it? I'm usually really good about taking the pill, but I forgot Thursday night, forgot Friday night, and remembered tonight - took two of the pills tonight to make up for at least one of the forgotten days. We had waffles on Thursday. I'm still BFing and the mini-pill is the only BC method we're using. I still haven't had AF, and I took a HPT on Monday this week, so I know I'm not pregnant as of right now. I know the chance of ovulating increases if you miss the pill, but is the chance really that much higher?

Re: Should I be worried? (mini-pill related)
Heyyyyy, welcome to the club!
Yes, there is some risk. Since I had this issue earlier this week, you and I could be on September 2013 together! Or maybe not...
Im still BF and no AF yet. I'll let you know in a few weeks!
I was always really confused about the mini-pill because from my understanding it doesn't stop ovulation, it just makes things "unfriendly" so to speak down there. The combination BCP is what stops ovulation altogether, but it also decreases your milk so that's why you can't take it while breastfeeding.
That said, if you are still BFing and haven't had a cycle yet you're probably fine. I've been through two cycles of regular BCP and will haven't had a period so I think it can take a while in some women.

I would retest in a week. If you had unprotected sex on Thursday and conceived, you definitely wouldn't get a BFP today or tomorrow even. It takes around 7 days for implantation to even occur.
Even if you haven't had AF yet, it doesn't mean you can't get/be pg.
I'd love to have another, but right now would not be a good time. I'm hoping to get a full-time teaching job next Fall, and I was hoping to wait until at least next August or September to get pregnant so that I would deliver in the summer and not have to do maternity leave.

What she said. And try setting a reminder?
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
I may have to do the reminder thing. I'm usually really good about taking the pills, since they're on my night stand, right next to where I set my phone at night when I plug it in. Thursday and Friday night, I had fallen asleep in the livingroom with R, so I was beyond groggy when I went to bed both nights.
