October 2011 Moms

Grrr, I just f*ucked up.

I just broke my dad's 400 dollar belt sander, it is not even a year old.  Fucknuts!  I sucked the cord up into the sander and wrapped it around the back wheel thing.   Sparks went flying everywhere, I'm still shaking it was pretty scary and it smells like bumper cars.  The cord is half shredded now.

I'm looking for a place to fix it.  Wish me luck, he is going to be royally pissed at me.   I hate f*cking up things!  At least I didn't get electrocuted.

Last week I used it for the first time and it kicked back into my gut when I pressed the trigger and I have a bruise.   Lesson learned, I'm never touching a belt sander again!

  • Oh no! I am glad you are ok.  Hopefully it can be fixed.  I could see this as something that would happen to me.  Good luck.

  • MH found a place by his work that will fix it for about a hundred bucks, I feel much better.

Thanks for the concern for me.

My dad was a rebel wood shop teacher back in the day and I'm afraid he passed on his berserker power tool gene to me which means I am not as cautious as I should be.  Actually I have this gene on both sides; my grandpa sawed off my grandma's finger with a table saw accidentally back in the 80's.Tongue Tied

Penny, please step away from the power tools. What on earth are you using a belt sander for anyways? I wouldn't even know how to turn one on. And yes, you are very lucky you didn't get electrocuted when the cord was pulled out of the wall!

Sanding the cupboards so the new fridge will squeeze in.

If it makes you feel better...  I put my hand into a band saw once, nearly cut my pinky off.  Power tools are scary!
