I lost my frozen stash thanks to hurricane Sandy. LO is 9 months now. I would like to begin freezing BM again but in the past 2 months she's been waking at night (she used to STTN) and because of this I stopped pumping so that she could feed. Now that she wakes at night I feel like I never have the opportunity to pump. I am concerned that if I do pump, it will take away from her if she needs to nurse.
At 9 months, is it possible to increase my production so that I can begin building a stash again, or am I SOL? If I decide to pump 1x/day, will that pumping session then take away from her daily feeding, or will my body adjust to accommodate her needs?
TIA for any suggestions or advice, ladies.
Re: Lost my stash - can I rebuild it?
Thanks for the tip - that is my main concern, pumping out her next meal!! :-) I'll try this and hopefully in time I'll be able to build a nice stockpile...
What time does she go to bed vs when you go to bed? I ask because right now, DD2 last eats around 6:30pm. I don't go to bed until 10. I pump around 9:45. This has helped build it very nicely.

I agree with PPs, but I just have to post because our daughters have the same F & M names! Beautiful!
She goes in at 6:30, but her wake up times at night are inconsistent. Sometimes she's up at 8:30, sometimes not until 11 or even 1:30 - and this is with solid and BM feedings during the day. Her schedule is never the same so I can't say with any certainty when it will happen and plan a pump session around it. It's so frustrating, because she used to sleep through the night.
Oh wow, that's incredible! Great minds, Dizzy
I pump in the morning every once in awhile to freeze and by the time lo wants to eat I'm fine.
I burnt through my freezer stash when my guy was in daycare because he was eating more in a day than I was producing. On June 9, 2012 I had 16oz in the freezer. I added in pumping sessions - on the weekends I would pump in the middle of the night after a feed, once in the morning, and once before bed. During the week, I'd pump on the way to work, and before bed (in addition to pumping during work.) By August 1, 2012 I had over 86 oz in the freezer, in addition to providing him his daily milk for work.
You can do it!
