Yesterday was Noah's birthday, and I got to see him for about 5 minutes the whole day, and he was sleeping at the time. Here's the LONG story...
Backstory...I've been dealing with a bunch of stomach/naseua issues lately (no, not pregnant!). I have an appointment with a specialist, but of course they can't get me in for a couple of weeks.
Anyways, we had planned that DH and I were going to take off work on Thursday for Noah's birthday and leave Wednesday night for the waterpark about an hour away. We were going to swim Wednesday night, spend the night, swim Thursday, then come home. Unfortunately, all my stomach issues were acting up, and I felt way too sick to go (talk about serious mommy guilt!!). So DH was SUCH a trooper and took Noah all by himself. I was so happy that Noah still got to go, and that Noah and DH had one on one time, but I was SO disappointed that I had to miss his birthday! I usually am not a very emotional person, but I was bawling my eyes out when I had to make the decision not to go.
Well, when DH and Noah got home about 3:00 on Thursday, I still was feeling horrible and decided to go to the ER. Long story short, ER dr. ran some tests, and took xrays, but didn't find anything. So he gave me some meds which luckily helped, and I'm just going to have to hold out until my appointment with the specialist.
So today I was feeling a bit better and Noah and I made cupcakes and we had a mini belated family birthday.
Re: Extreme Mommy Guilt!!
First, happy birthday Noah!
Second, I'm sorry about missing N on his bday. That must have been tough. Hope you can get some answers to your stomach issues and start getting healthy.
Happy Birthday, Noah!
So sorry you had such a rough few days -- can't believe the doctors can't figure it out. So weird! I'm sure Noah was forgiving, but I completely understand the emotional mommy guilt Chin up, lady!
Allllllso, I'm home this weekend for M's birthday party (tomorrow). If you're interested in meeting up for lunch or something on Sunday before we head back to Columbus, let me know! Of course if you're still feeling icky, I'll also be home over Christmas break (among many other Toledo trips, too).
I was definitely in your neck of the woods tonight (my sister lives in Waterville).
I hope you feel better soon and they figure out what's wrong
I'm sorry about your stomach issues. Hopefully the specialist will figure out whats wrong.
Aww, poor mama! It sounds like Noah still had a great time with just his daddy & that's the most important part. That's great you were able to make up some time with him after the fact, though!
Happy Birthday, Noah & I really hope you feel better soon & the specialist can figure out what's up. Keep us updated!
