Cribs for Short Moms

I am looking at cribs, but as someone who is only 4'11' I need a crib that is shorter than average. Are there any other short moms out there who have found a crib that is a good height?

Re: Cribs for Short Moms

  • Ikea or Baby Mod at Walmart are good shorter cribs. Many modern cribs are shorter.
    Good luck with your search!

  • I didn't end up buying this one but Pottery Barn has a low profile crib.  I saw it in person and really like it.

  • I chose to go with the Kendall low-profile crib from pottery barn kids. It suits our needs and my height concerns : )

There are also cribs that come with a top section that swings down (you have to have the arm span of an adult) I think the line is Baby's Dream. Www.babysdream.com/safetygate.aspx. (Sorry not clicky, on iPad) They're really nice.

  • I'm 5'2" and got the Pali imperia...it's the lowest profile compared to all the others I have seen (at least in person).

  • I'm 5'3" and so is hubby. We got https://www.burlingtoncoatfactory.com/burlingtoncoatfactory/Baby/Nursery-Room-Decor/Furniture/Cribs/Tuscany-Crib-Changer-Merlot-381026294.aspx off of Craigslist. I was really worried at first b/c without the mattress it seemed really low even on the highest setting. But got the mattress last week and it was fine. Easily able to reach in and didn't need to be on my tip-toes or anything. Think this crib has like 3-4 settings so you can drop the mattress as baby gets bigger and starts to stand.

  • May be a late post but I am 5'2" and I bought the Imperia crib. It is perfect for my height with the height adjustments. It is not made in China which is always a definate plus on my end and is made with REAL wood and non-harmful finishes...another plus!
Recommended on my end 100% and I'll buy Pali furniture for my future bundles as well.
  • Truthfully, as a fellow 4'11 person, I haven't had any issues with either of our cribs.  One was a Delta and the other was from Target.

  • You can also get a cheap step stool from Ikea to help you reach into the crib. I have a friend who did this.

FWIW, I am 5'2" and I have the Baby Cache Montana crib from BRU and I never had any issues putting LO into it or taking out. (even with a pregnant belly) :)
