1st dr appt not til 10 weeks

in 1st Trimester
Is that normal?? I have been pregnant 7 weeks now but have to wait 3 more to see the dr. I have a nurse appt for some bloodwork week 9... It's my first and it's hard to believe I'm actually pregnant...

    8-10 weeks for the first appt is pretty standard.  I know it can be hard to wait with your first.

    I just had mine at almost 12 weeks - it varies by practice.

    My OB's office schedules people between 10 and 12 weeks. Its pretty much the norm unless you have a medical reason or history of loss.

    It all depends on your doctor. Mine saw me at 5,6,7...got to see flicker heartbeat at 5 weeks. Heard heartbeat at 67. Next appt won't be until 12 since everything was progressing normally. She did tell me I could come back for a "peace of mind" visit to hear the heartbeat at 10 if I wanted. I DID have spotting during 4 weeks just the brown..but one day it was kind of heavy and scared me so that MAY be why she was seeing me so much. Anyway I think a lot of times it depends on if you are seeing a large or small practice.

    I see a high risk OB so I will go this week (as soon as I call and tell them) but I know its normal not to see your OB until 8-12 weeks.

    I had my first appointment at what I thought was 10w3d, but when I went back for my ultrasound at 10w6d, turns out baby was measuring 12w3d, so my first appointment was actually at 12 weeks LOL. Most first appointments are between 8 and 10 weeks, unless you have a history of miscarriage or are using fertility medications.
