https://www.babycenter.com/top-baby-names-2012 If anyone is interested, not that it has changed a ton from 2011. But our boy name did sneak on to the list this year. Let's just hope it stays at #95.
I think Michael has been in the top 100 for the past 100 years
I keep asking DH if we can "fancy it up" a bit and name him "JerMichael"
no takers yet!
Nice! How about Jer'Michael. I find the apostrophe really fancies things up
None of the names we're considering are on the list, but I'm not surprised-we tend to like unusual/unpopular names.
OOOOHHHH that is nice.... the apostrophe really classes it up!
DH is convinced his son will be a professional athlete, I stand behind my reasoning that with a name like "Jer'Michael Jones" he has a pretty good shot regardless of ability
The name we have chosen is on the list. But it was my Mom's name and she recently passed away and I love it and couldn't care less if it's on the list.
Our girl names are far enough down that I'm okay with it. Our boy names are a bit higher than I would like, but we had enough trouble coming up with someone that we both liked with the letters starting the same as our grandmothers who we are naming after.
Our boy name is on the list, so it is a bit more popular than I would like, but it is the only boy name that either of us have really loved and committed to together and since it isn't in the top 50, I think I'm ok with it. Our girl name isn't on the list at all which is great.
I knew that Jack (#10) is really popular, but I didn't think that Anna (#34) would be so high up there. Oh well, those are the names we are sticking with!
It doesn't say what their criteria are for that list anywhere, does it? I couldn't find it.
Anyway, our son's name is on there and I'm surprised. The names we have picked out for this one, whatever sex it is, aren't on there. I'm surprised the girl name we picked isn't on the list!

It says that their data comes from 500,000 parents that shared their baby's name with BabyCenter.com in 2012.
Yeah, I don't really consider this a "legit" list. If you want to know what's actually popular from actual records, you need to check out the SSA list.

I agree. When you compare their rankings to those of all babies being born in the US there are some significant differences. Either way our name is on the "popular" side right now, but oh well.
Neither of our names are anywhere on the lists phew! We were going for unique and I am guessing we found it! Ainsley or Ryker Find out in 2 weeks which one
My oldest DS is on the list...Gavin, but my other kiddos aren't. Only a few of the R names we have picked out if we have a girl are on the list and none of our boy names are. We don't care either way, but kinda nice we are somewhat unique.

First comes love, next comes marriage, then comes...

Our boy name is #4 on the list (Liam) but I don't really care if it's popular. It was really hard to find a boy name that DH and I both loved.
