Hello- New here / First pregnancy
Hello everyone,
I just got confirmation today from my Dr. that we are expecting. According to her, I am 4 weeks and 3 days today. I had a little scare today though. I'm two weeks late and had been having an upset tummy. I for some reason had this feeling that I needed to get a pregnancy test. I convinced my husband to take me for one and I tested for the first time on Tuesday night. The line closest to the tip came out first & dark but the second line was faint but still visible. I didn't know how to react so I showed my husband and he got very emotional. I was in doubt and didn't want to get too excited so I decided to take another one the next morning. That night I couldn't sleep well and woke up around 4 am to take my other test because my bladder woke me up (lol). The test was almost the same, first line darker & second faint but visible. I went ahead and called my Dr's office to make an appt for Friday. Thursday night (last night) I decided to still buy the Clear Blue digital pregnancy test to be more confident and it said "Pregnant". I shed a few tears because I still had some doubt. I wanted to make sure I had a confirmation from the Dr to make it official. My husband got very emotional when I showed him the test. He's a very emotional kind of guy (lol).
Today I went to my Dr's appointment in the morning and had a few things done. Pap Smear and vaginal u/s but the Dr couldn't see our baby. Last I remember my last menstrual was 10/6 and she told me I should be close to eight weeks and wasn't sure why we couldn't see the baby. She mentioned the baby could be hiding or I could possibly be earlier than what we thought. She sent me to the hospital to get blood work and another u/s. 5 hours later I was finally out and not much was discovered. All they could see was the sac and they mentioned "yolk"? They said it seemed like it was too early in the pregnancy. They sent me back to my Dr to get more information. She mentioned I was 4 weeks and 3 days. Somehow I either didn't calculate my last menstrual cycle correctly or they said I could have ovulated late. Not sure what they meant by that.
I will be going back on Monday for more blood work and hoping to make another appointment soon to have another u/s done. Hopefully this time we can hear a heartbeat and see our baby.
This will be our first baby and we are extremely excited AND I am so nervous. I am praying that my pregnancy will go well. I have only told my sisters because they were the only ones I showed my pregnancy tests because I wasn't sure what they meant. Oh and I let my boss know as well since I will be asking for days off and just so she knows in case I'm feeling nauseous. I can't wait to tell our parents. I think we are going to wait a couple more weeks. Not sure if we can hold it in that long.
