I had to EP DD for the first yr b/c her high palate & now as we're TTC #2, I am terrified I'll fail at BFing again. I can't find any info that says high palate are hereditary, but was hoping someone here might have a positive story to share
No personal experience but nursing is different with every baby. You no doubt learned a lot the first time around that will make you better prepared to face any challenges you might encounter. Good luck!
Both of mine have high palates but from what I understand its due to their being tongue tied that caused a high and narrow palate. We're able to nurse still though.

Hers was so high, the LC explained, that her suck reflex wasn't triggered by my nipple (even with a shield) b/c it couldn't reach the roof of her mouth.
My LC in the hospital said DS had a relatively high palette and that I had small nipples which made for a more challenging experience but I feel that we BF wonderfully now with no issues.
