I don't care about them at all. The part of my brain that gets it is broken.
I think they are cute, but no more cute than any other family pictures. And no other family pictures get sent to me for display.
I do display them, but I feel awkward. Am I supposed to save them? Why aren't they recyclable? Why are we all spending money on all of this when you could just email me a picture and actually receive my comments in return?
I do love me some cheesy seasonal outfits, and I even enjoy taking/seeing pictures of them. I just can't make the jump to ordering glossy prints with captions and sending them to all my friends.
Re: Late FFFC re: holiday cards
I like them, because with the digital age, it is some mail I look forward to during the holiday season. I keep them for the month then throw them away.
I keep our christmas card every year and make a scrapbook page on what we did that year.
I'm the mom that is going to hand my kids a scribbled photobucket password in 13 years. I suck at stuff like that. Which is probably why I suck at Christmas cards.
If I'm feeling generous, I'll spend about 3 seconds looking at an emailed pic. Usually it's about half that.
Holiday cards I can look at for weeks, and we do save the pics with our family photos, but not the cards.
Seeing photos in email or facebook is great, but I love having prints.
I like receiving them. I do send them, but not to everyone on our list. I make about 10 photo card for people close to us and everyone else gets a regular card. I do try to be creative, but I don't fuss too much about it being perfect and I print the photos at home to attach to a frame card.
I think my favorite photo was the year I snapped a few shots while the children were decorating the gingerbread house. I like seeing the action shots better than a posed photo.
Not that I GAF if people do holiday cards or not, but what effort does it take to click the mouse a few times on a photo website like tinyprints or shutterfly?
ITA It's only as involved as you make it. It can be as simple as snapping a pic of the kids while decorating the tree holding their favorite ornament.
