Is it normal for a grandmother to want a professional photo taken alone with my daughter? Just curious if anyone has experienced this before as it seems strange to me.
Is it your grandmother or your daughters grandmother? I guess either way, to me, it wouldn't be weird. My family is very very close. If my mother would come to me and ask for her and M to have a professional picture taken, I'd love it. I'd love to have a great picture of two of my favorite people.
I don't think it's weird at all. We recently had family pictures taken with my mother in law and had some done with just her and Nina. Even if we hadn't taken some with us too I don't think it's weird. We never had professional pictures done with my grandparents except for at events like weddings. I think they will be nice for both the grandparents and grandkids to have in the future.
I don't understand why you find it wierd!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so totally normal for a grandparent to want a photo nicely done with their so special grandchild. It is only a picture, she is not trying to adopt your child!!!!!!!!!!!! eeekk....

I am dying that people think this is weird. What do you think grandma is going to do with the picture? Do you never take a picture of your child with their grandparents?
Unclench people, it is a freaking photo of a person who loves (and is related to) your child.

I think theres an underlying issue making you feel like its weird...I say that because if my MIL asked for that i would immediately think hell no just cuz theres major issues there and I have always had the feeling that if she could step into my place she would in a heartbeat.
But if my mom asked i would just think it was funny/cute.
Re: Is it normal?
I'm with you, OP. My parents had the same request, and I side-eyed them.
I wouldn't say it's the norm, but I definitely don't think it's weird or strange.

Why would you side-eye them? They love your child. They want to have a picture with him. How is that weird?
