lump in groin

I have a hard lump in my right groin. It is not an ingrown hair or anything like that. It is very hard and pretty deep. It feels as if it does not move and is only somewhat sore when i poke at it. Any ideas what this could be? Google is giving me nothing and of course this appeared the day AFTER my doctors appointment.

Re: lump in groin

  • Are you sure it's not an ingrown hair?  I had one one time that was actually on my nose and for a few months it felt like a hard ball that was sooo deep in the skin - had no idea it could be an ingrown hair and then one day it surfaced and that was that...so bizarre though.  Hope you figure it out!

  • Im thinking more along the lines of lymph node. I was under the impressiin that your lymph nodes swell when there is an infection which makes me nervous! I wonder what would cause this...maybe hormones..
  • It can be a cyst or a swollen lymph node. Def get it checked out
  • You should ask your doctor about this on Monday. In the meantime, if you notice redness, drainage, it becomes more painful, it becomes hot to the touch, or you have a fever, go to the ER to have it looked at. Oh, and stop poking it. If there is an infection there, that will only make it worse.
