Last night at 3:00 AM my water broke with two loud pops and some pain. The fluid had blood in it which panicked me. Apparently that is normal, but no one ever told me that.

Got to the hospital and contractions were 3-5 minutes apart already. First cervix check I was 3 cm. labor progressed incredibly quickly and by 6 AM they were 1-3 minutes apart and I was 4-5 cm, 100%, and zero station at that check. By 7 AM they were 30 seconds to 1 min apart and excruciating. Nurses did a shift change and were checking to be sure they were all natural contactions. I caved and got the epidural and by 8 AM and right afterward was 10 cm and started pushing.

Baby Zach was born at 9:13 am 7lbs 5 ounces and 20 inches long! As soon as the epidural wore off I was up and walking and feel sore, but great otherwise.
