Waking up in the morning

DS used to wake up for the day when he was hungry each morning. The last few days he has been waking up at his regular time, but just coos and gurgles and laughs in his crib for about an hour before he starts to get hungry. I'm not complaining, it's nice to not have him cry right away in the morning and I go about doing other things for a few minutes instead of having to immediately tend to him. Is anyone else noticing this with their LO?

Re: Waking up in the morning

  • DS2 still screams and cries when he wakes up.  But I remember when DS1 used to wake up and just talk to himself before crying for me.  It was nice!  Enjoy!

  • DD has always been like that first thing in the morning but she wants me to stay in the room. She'll coo and smile at the ceiling fan for a bit.

  • Ds wakes up at the same time every morning, the same way. Kicking and talking very loudly.

  • Yes and I love it! One morning he woke up before me but was so quiet I didn't know. This morning he was my alarm clock, but was in a good mood once we got up.

  • What is this "morning" you speak of? It seems like I'm up all night these days :/

  • Jacqueline is usually up for the day around 7ish, and has been starting to do the same thing, waking up and not screaming for food. And she does that after naps and stuff too. It's nice to not have to rush around to have a bottle ready asap.
