TTC After a Loss

***<><>AMA TTCAL weekly check-in<><>***

 ***<><>AMA TTCAL weekly check-in<><>***

This check-in is for Friday, November 30, 2012.  I hope everyone had a wonderful week!  I should be studying for my first final but can?t seem to get motivated.  I have developed a serious case of the ?I don?t cares? which is not good.  I am looking forward to my final being done ? DH and I are flying to Nashville right after I finish my test.  He has a job interview and we will only be there 24 hours.  I?m looking forward to the getaway ? even if it is very short.

?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?
Welcome and happy belated birthday to wickedsugar!
?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?
No BFPs and we all seem to be fairly close together in our cycles.
?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?

This is a check-in designed for us that are AMA (35+) and dealing with that added challenge in our TTCAL journeys. Please feel free to share your insights, vents, thoughts, and anything else. Mostly this check-in is to remind all of us that we are not alone and to offer support to each other.

Check in every Friday.

AmyM72 ? How?s the charting going?  I see that FF took away all of your open circles except for the one early day.  It looks like you should be getting CH in another day or so.

egsquared ? Boo to AF showing up!  What was the word from your RE? Are you one more cycle until IVF?

wickedsugar ? I see AF did show up for you also. I have everything FX?d for you that this is your cycle and if it is going to be crazy long that it's because it is 9 months.

?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?

Question of the Day: If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

  • egsquared ? Boo to AF showing up!  What was the word from your RE? Are you one more cycle until IVF?

So, that was our last chance to conceive on our own.  I've started an estrogen "priming" for IVF in January - basically it will prevent me from ovulating and have me be ready to start when they start their January IVF cycle.  We have a nurse consult meeting on December 12th to learn all about meds, calendar, etc.  Really, it all still seems surreal to me.

QOTW:  I think I would like to go to Australia, but DH realllllly wants to go to Scotland (he's a big part Scottish), so that's important to me too since it's important to him. :)

    TTC #1 since 6/08. Cycle #6 - BFP 12/22/08, EDD 9/3/09, DD 8/14/09 at 37w1d

    BFP #3 - 3/4/12, EDD 11/14/12, CP 3/11/12
    BFP #4 - 5/9/12, EDD 1/19/13, CP 5/11/12
    BFP #5 - 8/22/12, EDD 5/5/13, CP 8/24/12

I remember at the start of the IVF cycle I did getting a massive box of meds.  It is just a lot that is thrown at you. I would be super frustrated with the estrogen - even though I understand why they do it's just really hard to hand them a cycle.

Australia and Scotland are two places I want to go to (honestly, I just want to travel everywhere).  Totally geeky, but if I go to Australia I plan on going to a zoo to see a platypus - there are none in the US.

  • I'm CD8 and have zero signs of O which is not surprising at this point. At this point I feel like I'm charting just to have well-documented cycles to give to my OB in 5 months.  I really, really, dislike feeling like I am wasting 6 cycles before going to a specialist.

I'm also waiting for copies of my medical records from my old RE so I can see what tests he actually ran on me.  Hopefully I'll get those next week.

QOTD - If I would go to any country I would go to Italy.  DH and I went there last year on our honeymoon but it was not until after we got home that I pulled up some old family tree stuff and found the cities where my great grandparents are from. Completely kick myself now because it would have been really neat to go to those cities.  Next time!

  • Hope you have a nice time in Nashville! Yes the chart looks a little better now, it still gives me 3 or 4 possible O days. I guess that is normal. Fingers crossed that our timing was good this month and I guess just keep doing it until I see a bigger temp rise. I haven't slept well the last few night but just kept the same temp time to try to be consistant.
Australia is definatly on our short list, but we'd also like to travel more in the states and try to hit as many national parks as possible. I really like being "off the grid" and getting to enjoy nature.

FX for you on your timing.  I'm going to start mixing OPKs in and charting my CM just to really try and narrow the focus days down for us.  DH would rather stay at EOD so I get really paranoid about BDing too much at the beginning of FW and then blowing our timing when we actually O.

I have always wanted to get a National Park passport. I think it would be a really cool way to travel the US and keep track of all of the places we have been to.

  • Can I join you ladies?

I'm CD1 and we're doing IUI#2 this cycle with Femara. I seem to ovulate later than I should with the trigger - like 4 or 5 days after rather than 1-2 days after the trigger, so I'm trying to get with my RE to discuss with her 1) WHY is that happening and 2) Do we need to time IUI a little differently this month.

The femara makes me get big juicy follies way earlier in my cycle than I normally would which messes me up. I asked my RE if I could start the femara later and she said NO but I'm going to start taking them in the evenings instead of morning and that gains me 12 hours or so at least.

Anyway, that's my deal. More history in my siggy for those of you I haven't met yet!

    and Happy Birthday Wicked!!!!

Of course Boots! (((hugs))) Glad to have you but sorry you are back on this board.  I'm curious, is your RE doing the IUI as if you are triggering in 1-2 days? If that's the case that just seems seriously messed up.

Yeah. I plan to bring my chart from last cycle that shows IUI on CD11 and O on CD13. Grrrr.

  • Buggirl, yes our passport book is very sad, only a few of the western parks.

Boots, granted I know nothing about doing iui but the timing issue seems crazy! Sorry you are back here.
