So I still don't have a nursing bra.

So I still don't have a nursing bra.

Well, I have one from Motherhood, but it's very tight, and the wires started poking out after a couple wears so I stopped wearing it. I've been wearing a wireless Hanes bra that I pull up over my huge, saggy boobs.

Problem is, I need 44 or 46 DDD. And seeing as I'm heading over tomorrow to pay the second half of November's rent that was due by the 5th, I shouldn't buy a bra. But I really fxcking need one so it looks like I'll be spending 60 that shouldn't be spent. Doing what I do now makes NIP very difficult, and with no support under my breast, I can't just lift LO to my chest; my nipple literally points to the floor, so I either have to do the football hold or it's a 2 handed ordeal.

I heard Nordstrom converts bras to nursing bras for 10 so I tried that. I was charged 20 for them to cut the straps and sew a clip on them. No sling for support, nothing to keep the strap from falling down behind my back. I paid 20, that I shouldn't have spent, for them to ruin a bra by doing something I could have done at home. The store manager refunded the money because I was damn near in tears since I thought I'd actually have a nursing bra for once.

So, if anyone is as huge as I am, what bra are you happy with? Looks are NOT important; I wear granny panties, after all. I'd like to avoid wires because without fail they always poke out of the fabric soon after I start wearing a bra. I'd also like the straps to be thicker than dental floss because my boobs are heavy.

I just want ONE bra so I can comfortably feed the baby.

These are the ones I wear. I've got 38F monster tatties so these come S,M,L,XL, XXL. I have 2 off the sale rack at BRU for 16 bucks. I wore them pre pregnancy and went up a size post but theyre lasted, have no wire and my boobs don't touch my belly button! I also have 2 of the sleep bras from Kohls online for nighttime feedings and when I'm too lazy to do anything, they're just pull to the side ones. Good luck, these huge cans definitely have a mind of their own hope you find something!

  • Do you still have the one that Nordstroms converted? Maybe you could sew an elastic from the strap to the side of the cup to hold it in place when you nurse. Nursing bras don't really have extra support, but they do stay in place.

other thrifty possibilities: go to walmart and look at the plain soft cotton regular ones - see if there's something that isn't necessarily nursing but could easily be pulled aside.  Or v-neck camis with a shelf bra.

Hun, when you are past a C camis and shelf bras are socially unacceptable unless at home.
I am a 38G/H, my only nursing bra had an underwire, I like the support and have worn it since pregnancy. It's the annita brand off of barenessicity?.com. I have heard Bravoda has great bras that support and for plus size are only 35 so cheaper than you estimate.
On a more personal note, I an adamant about women wearing brad that not only fit but support. When we get done nursing our boobs will sag. Having ill proper support will maker your boobs sag worse and cause you preventable back problems later. ::off my soap box::

I meant to wear under another tshirt. OP mentioned needing something that could work with NIP.

  • I did a search at Walmart.com and found this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Leading-Lady-Maternity-Baby-Sees-It-Wireless-Nursing-Bra-Style-423/17173877

They have your size and its $19.  Not bad, i say.  I just bought whatever bra from Target for $20.  But i am not big like you, at all.  Almost a C when I'm full, lol..

  • Just a thought,  why don't you try a sports nursing bra.  I was a  DD while BFing.  I got mine at target.  It was 2 for $20ish. There is nice cotton nursing bra with a little lace...it's cute and cheap.  $17 They are super comfy and easy to use in public.  Plus they are great to sleep in. To be honest I still wear all of them now that i'm done BFing.  Here is a link so you can check them out.

They are so comfy, but still molded enough to keep the girls in a decent shape.  Also, if you find wires are poking out, you need a bigger cup, not a bigger band.

  • Bravado...I don't remember the style name but its the regular old cotton one, but in plus style. I'm a 42 DDD and wear a L, and I think they go up to xl or xxl. Not what I'm used to as far as support goes, but I'm not embarrassed to wear them out in public either.

i disagree. I'm a 34 DDD and I ONLY wear nursing tank tops. The bras are uncomfortable and I hate them. So I bought XL tops, yeah they are HUGE everywhere but my boobs and a little small  in the boobs but I everything else annoys me
