Decided to stop temping...

for the rest of this cycle. I just obsess over my temps and searching for charts that match mine. So for my sanity, and for DH's sanity, just not doing it. I've already confirmed O, so I'm done.

Anyone else get like this sometimes?

I stopped mid cycle, too. I had a couple mornings I missed, and my temps were all over anyway, so I said forget it! I do think sometimes temping makes me too crazy.

I quit temping after my first m/c, it drove me nuts trying to remember to take it before I got up and to record it. Half the time I'd have dreams about it and then get confused about if I had really taken it or not.

It's helpful to have the information but I just roll OPK style now for my own sanity and it works for me.

*I'm not recommending my approach to anyone.

I am also on a temping break. I am still using my CBFM but other than that we're on a tracking break. Its been nice. Less information means less to sit and stress and analyze.

I completely understand your frustrations! If stopping temping (even just for a little while) will help you, then I'd say go for it. You need to do what is best for you.

Yep. Often as soon and I'm sure about O'ing I stop temping to give myself a break from the pressure.

Sounds like a good idea. I am still on the fence as to whether I'll start temping/charting at all once I get my cycles back on track. Part of me feels like it's great to have all that info but the other part says it's just one more thing for me to obsess over.

I think my plan going forward (if this isn't the month), is to temp until I confirm O and then just step away from it. I don't obsess until after Oing, so I think I can still handle it till I see CHs.

I'm glad I"m not the only one who feels this way.

I temped long enough to know that I ovulate regularly and that for me OPKs pretty accurately predict my fertile window. Just using OPKs can work for some, you just don't know as much about whats going on in your body as you do with proper temping.

Yup...I temped (and obsessed) for 7mths before our 1st bfp. It was actually becoming an issue in my marriage! I've gotten very good at CM,CP and using OPK's which my DH probably doesn't even realize I do. I actually use FF to track all of these signs...my non-temping chart link is in my siggy!

I'm considering not temping once the 2WW officially commences for my own sanity...

There's no way I could not chart at this stage with my cycles being all over the place (plus the need to confirm ovulation for purposes of taking medication), but I completely understand the inclination. I like people who temp mostly because it's the only way I can really help them understand and maybe give them a small piece of sanity, but I think if you have fairly regular cycles and a good understanding of your own body's signs, temping is overkill.

Yup. I obsess way too much. I just like to confirm O, then I stop. Charting is stressful and DH told me to stop, but I am glad I temped this week bc I thought I Oed 2 days earlier than FF thinks, so I'm glad i caught it and was able to cover our bases.
