Can you tell yet if your child will have an accent?
I think DS has a little bit of a Southern drawl going on. He was watching dogs on TV the other day and getting very excited, and it sounded like, "Daaawwwwgs! Daaawwwgs!" hehe
Oh yes, mostly due to my husband. We've got the Mass accent so we say "wicked" and never use R's at the end of words so C will say Wata (for water) or sticka (for sticker). My SIL yells at him all the time for not pronouncing his words properly for her lol.
I think he sounds pretty much like us which I'd call maybe a light Southern accent? He definitely has a few words though that are really Southern and a few British thrown in for good measure!
Is there such a thing as a northwest accent? I guess we just have the typical Hollywood accent that most people on TV have. Also, I just watched the new Footloose and I loved that guy's Boston accent!
I doubt she will. Neither H nor I have accents. And DC is such a mix of people from everywhere that I don't think there will be one speech pattern in particular that she would emulate.
H says I have a Long Island accent even though I was born and raised in Central Jersey and now have lived at the beach for 6 years. He already says that T is picking up on it, but I blame it my MIL who has a north Jersey accent you may only know what that is if you're from around here... But it's very distinct.
We were just joking that DD has managed to develop a NE accent. She says "cidah" and "watah" and there are a few other phrases that sound NE as well. How she learned this from 2 Ohioans in Missouri? I have no clue.
T. has a Boston accent (Let's go for a ride in the "cah!") I have an upstate NY accent and DH is Irish, so I guess T split the difference and has the most Irish of American accents.
Why do they have to make it smell so good if you can't eat it??
Yes! The boys actually have a southern twang going on and I have no idea where they got it from because we have Boston accents haha! They like to run around in circles and then say 'Woah, I fell!' but it sounds like 'Woah, I feeeeel' with a little twang to it. It is adorable but I still don't know where they learned how to say it!

LMAO!
I have to pay attention to see if A starts dropping her Rs like I do. I am bad, especially the more animated I am.
if M does yet, it's rarely evident. W's English accent is only really apparent now he's four.
