First OB Appointment & Question about prenatals

Today was our First OB appointment. Oh boy did it feel great to be back to my OB/GYN. She was actually the one we helped me plan everything and recommended I see my RE. Appointment was great. Baby is growing strong and healthy. We finally got our official due date of June 26, 2013 which is only two days off from the original one we've been using. The ONLY awkward thing was one of the GYN surgical residents was there to observe my OB and also learning. We didn't get great ultrasound freeze screens because she's learning but my OB took a few herself and gave those to us.

Question: What pre-natal are you taking? I was originally prescribed OB One Complete but it has such a bad after taste. I asked my OB today and she was trying to find a sample but couldn't so instead she gave me samples of Select OB + DHA (chewables). I go back to see her Tuesday for more blood work.

DH and I are just so excited we graduated and finally saw LO after so long from our last RE appointment.

I've been on preg vit 5 since starting the IVF process. It was hard to stomach the pink ones until my 2nd trimester and the OB said that was ok as long as I was getting the 5mg of folate in the blue ones.

I'm on the viatfusion gummies.  I've had an awful gag response since getting pregnant and cannot swallow a prenatal without throwing up.

My OB had me add a slow release iron supplement around 20 weeks as the Vitafusion don't have any iron in them.

I take Prefera OB One (it used to be Prefera OB plus DHEA), but now the company has combined the two pills into one pill. It is a big pill, but I find it easy to swallow and I have had no issues with it being hard on my stomach. It has a soft coating rather than a hard shell coating. I used to take Target brand Up and Up prenatal vitamins and had no issues with those either. I only switched when I started IVF and it was totally my choice to do so and the RE said that over the counter were fine. Good luck finding a prenatal that works for you and agree with your stomach. Congrats on the great appointment.
