I don't really like Jim Carrey. I can't imagine anyone else playing The Grinch, but I still don't like him.
I think that Black Friday has ruined the true Thanksgiving holiday. I am grateful that Massachusetts at least has laws to prevent opening before midnight.
I think that people who tell me I should have bought my son a tool bench instead of a kitchen should mind their own business. I am shocked that people still think that way. I think that my son is missing out by not going to daycare. I hope to be able to afford daycare this summer for his benefit, not mine. I can't rationalize spending the money right now when we don't truly need the childcare.
I don't understand scarves for fashion. I am not saying that they always look bad, but I often think that they make people look like old ladies. I think of my elementary school teachers when I see scarves. Maybe they are just too complicated for me.

Re: Unpopular Opinion Thursday
It drives me crazy when people thing walking in at the exact minute you are supposed to be somewhere is being on time. For me, if I'm supposed to be somewhere at 10 (say a library story time, a doctor's appointment, a meeting) that means I am supposed to be ready to go at 10, not just walking in the door and then taking another 5 minutes to get settled, fill out forms, whatever. Running late in general makes me crazy, but if other people are waiting on you then its even worse, especially in an appointment-type situation.
This was spurred by a post on another board, but added to by my best friend who we helped move this past weekend. They were supposed to be ready to move in to their new place at 10, but she's always late so I figured realistically more like 10:30/11. Instead, they got there at 1 PM!!!!
Definitely not trying to start something, but just today my friend was saying how she is sad to go back to work after some time off because she feels her LO is missing out by being in daycare. No zoo trips, library story times, indoor park play time, science center trips, etc. I just thought it was funny to see two completely opposite opinions within hours of each other. I'm very solidly in the "what works for your family" camp on daycare and am looking forward to the day when DD is in school full time and DS starts going to preschool a couple mornings a week, but only for selfish reasons! :-)
I hate Christmas movies.
I do not like frosting or icing.
That's all I've got for now.
Jess & Adam, married 2009, precious Audrey born in 2011. BFP 1/6/13, 6-wk MMC discovered at 9 wks 2/11/13. D&C 2/18/13, second D&C 4/23/13 for retained placenta.
BFP 8/24/13!! EDD 5/1/14, delivered healthy and sweet Zoey Leanne on 5/5/14 by repeat c-section.
We only did play groups with Tim/ EI groups until Tim was 3 and then we started him in preschool because I couldn't justify spending $45903583905 a week on daycare when I was home.
I may send Nick to "school" when he's 18 months "if" he's walking (not their rules, mine) only because they offer a 75% off sibling discount.
They miss out out on "some things" but I felt for us it was better to keep him home.
So it's kinda best of both worlds for me. I can't afford and don't need daycare either so it's not really an option for us.
My UO is that I think clear Christmas lights are boring. I don't care how hiljack it looks....I love multicolored lights. I put clear lights on my tree this year and it looks boring.
Yes, I feel like he is missing out on the socialization, playing in a different environment, and learning things in a different manner than I would teach him. I just feel like there are so many benefits to daycare, although I am grateful that I am able to work full-time and not have to place him in daycare. I just think that he would really love it and benefit from it on a part-time basis.
