Hello ladies. I had my baby a week ago. He is a late term(36 week) preemie. I feel like all he does is sleep and it's starting to make me nervous. He is somewhat alert when I feed him and totally awake when I change or bathe him. Other than that he is always sleeping. The pediatrician told me not to wake him to feed him but I feel so guilty letting him go more than 5 hours. Is this typical preemie behavior?? Thanks in advance!
My lo is 11/2 weeks old. He was born 51/2 weeks early. He is my first. He has been super tired tonight and rally hasn't eaten the last two feedings. I was wondering if this was normal.
Newborns tend to sleep a lot, and they tend to sleep during the day. It's not until their over a month or two do they actually stay awake more. Although my LO never sleep more than 3 to 4 hours until she was 3 months old.
My LO is a 36-weeker as well and we rarely saw her with open eyes the first month or so. She ate every few hours around the clock for the first three months She did eventually start staying awake longer but it took awhile.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I feel a little better now. I kind of look forward to him keeping me up! Seriously, all he does is sleep.
