5 Thing Thursday

Here is this week's version.

1) How was your Thanksgiving?

2) In spirit of the ridiculous Powerball jackpot last night, if money were no object, what would be the first thing you'd buy yourself?  (Lets exclude the obvious of house, car, travel or giving money to family/charity)

3, 4 and 5 are you this week.

Re: 5 Thing Thursday

  • 1) How was your Thanksgiving?

Mine was good, a little more stressful than I had hoped... mostly because my son did not eat lunch and barely touched his dinner.  I think he got overwhelmed with all the people, though he's been in large family settings before and it never bothered his eating.

    2) In spirit of the ridiculous Powerball jackpot last night, if money were no object, what would be the first thing you'd buy yourself?  (Lets exclude the obvious of house, car, travel or giving money to family/charity)

Excluding house, car and travel, the first thing I'd probably buy myself would be a huge screen TV.  Right now a board is messed up on my 12 year old projection screen to where it looks like we are watching 3D TV without the glasses.  All the images on the edges of the screen have a red ghost image.  I'd like to get the 93 inch, I think Mitsubishi makes it.

    3) My son apparently is quite into the Christmas spirit.  He "helped" decorate the tree, loves sitting in front of it when it is lit up, and has been watching Christmas specials very intently.  I like it because frankly, I love the specials, the decorating the house for the holidays and the like and my wife frankly just doesn't care that much.

    4) Going along with the Christmas specials, it turns out that out of all the different holiday specials (Thanksgiving and Halloween included), my son digs on the Charlie Brown specials most.  He liked Frosty and the Grinch, but the Charlie Brown ones have his attention the most and when they go to commercial, he keeps saying "Come back".

    5) I can't believe my son is going to turn 2 in less than 3 weeks.  It blows my mind how fast everything has flown by.  You may have been told by your parents, or other people with kids that time flies once you have kids and said to yourself, "yeah, I'm sure it does"... I'm telling you now... IT DOES.  It seems like just yesterday my son couldn't talk, walk or feed himself and now he's able to do all these things and so much more.

It was good.  We went to a friend's house.  Everything was going great until our dog decided to pee on the carpet.  That put a damper on the whole day.

    A liger

    3) I'm upset that the Big Ten didn't win the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this year.  I blame Michigan State and Wisconsin.  Unacceptable.

    4) I am ecstatic that Ohio State capped off the undefeated season by beating Michigan.  It sucks that the university was boneheaded and didn't take a bowl ban last year on a 6-6 season.

    5) I finally finished my new brew system.  I brewed 2 batches of beer over the Thanksgiving weekend.  It felt really good to be able to brew again.  I love my new system.  It is so easy to use.

It was pretty good. I smoked a turkey for the first time. Took about 7 hours but it was insanely awesome. It was incredibly moist, juicy, and had a great smokey flavor to it.

State of the art home gym.

    3) Only 6 weeks until my wife's due date. It is coming blazing fast and I am getting skeered!

    4) My birthday is Jan 14. The DD is Jan 11. How cool would that be to share a birthday with my daughter? I could handle Princess Parties and Tea Parties for the next 12 or so years.

    5) The dresser came in yesterday so I plan on putting it together over the weekend. All we have left to get for the nursery is the glider rocker my wife wants.

  • 1) How was your Thanksgiving?

My Thanksgiving was pretty decent. Our Thursday plans were cancelled last minute and my mother-in-law and I split the menu and it was pretty awesome and intimate. I would prefer the rest of my Thanksgiving Thursdays to be just like that. AND it was a gluten and dairy free one, which sounds awful, but turned out pretty decent.

Honestly, I would buy some space and open a dessert shop. I love baking and feeding people and it would be dope to have a shop without the pressures that small business can bring.

    3. My kid is full of smiles, laughter and is talking up a storm. It's really awesome.

    4. Also, last night I held my son on my lap, he was wide awake, and I ate my entire dinner. He didn't cry, scream or go crazy...he was just chill the entire time. It was crazy awesome!

    5. This weekend is Christmas pictures. I hate taking pictures, but my wife wants to capture our son at every stage and Holiday....so looks like I'm going to need to get back in the gym and stop polishing off Holiday treats. Being confused for Santa isn't my idea of Holiday cheer.

  • 1) Was awesome, got to spend time with IL's extended family, my parents, and how to handle a three year old and a five year old when the mom has a migraine and the kids are kids.

    2) I would say a work out room filled with the weights that I like to use so I can quit my gym membership and not have to fight for equipment.

    3) MW got her practicum so that she can finish her MLS without writing and defending a thesis paper.

    4) This means that we will take a pay hit for 15 weeks while she completes this.

    5) We are going to be TTC during this time and I need to finish my attic man cave or kids room.
