...that you never wanted before?
Me, I never liked lunch meat or beer. Now I'm envious of every person I see eating a deli sandwich. Then the other day DH was drinking a beer and I thought it looked wonderful (always been a wine person).
I know there are differing opinions on a lot of foods and what you can and can't have but I'm playing it safe. I guess I just think it's funny I want stuff because I've been told I shouldn't have it.
Re: Anyone else want a food you can't have...
You can eat lunch meat- just heat it beforehand. I haven't eaten it a bunch while I've been pregnancy, but I've eaten a couple toasted subs.
I did really want an alcoholic beverage one night, and I don't drink even when not pregnant.

Well, you can nuke the shiit out of a deli sandwich and eat it if you are worried. Usually, for me anyway, its the amount of nitrates in the processed meat that I try to keep a to a minimum. One stupid sandwich is not going to kill you, I promise with whipped cream and cherries on top.
That being said, I really want beef tar-tar. The specialty in a restaurant close to me and the texture, smell etc. is so appealing to me. However, raw meat is the one thing my OB (who knows me very well) told me to cut out. Alas.

I want the raw stuff, sushi!! Tuna tartar is sooo tempting too, but double verboten! Have had no wine cravings, and since I was a certified wino this surprised me. Odd cravings like spagetti-Os which i haven't had since little.
Oh and you can too have feta, most in the general supermarket is pasturized...SAFE!
I absolutely respect everyone doing what they feel is right, but almost all feta available at the grocery store is pasteurized, so you should be able to easily find feta you can eat without worries. I get most of my cheeses from a special cheese shop... its delicious and is all pasteurized. However, if you still don't feel comfortable, I understand wanting to be super safe.

Feta is fine. It's rare to find feta in the US that is not pasteurized.
And I eat beef sticks as well. I don't honestly see the big deal on that one.
The only thing I sorta miss is my diet coke zero.
And just heat up the lunch meat. I craved Paneras Turkey Bacon Bravo with DD and would just heat the turkey up before eating it.

Nothing that I "can't" have, but I want food that I deep down really don't want. I've been a vegetarian for about a year, and I super want a huge cheeseburger. Usually Gardein or Boca will satisfy that craving, but not lately.
