delaying shots?

I want to delay DD's shots.  I mentioned it to the nurse at the peds and she said that was fine and they'd deal with it when we where at the shot appt...but I'm curious how this works.  Which ones do they typically give first? Do you come every month? Ect.  I would like to know all the options since my doc is going to try to convince me to do them all at once like she did with DS. Thanks
