Tight Belly

I'm just over 26 weeks with two little boys and my belly has been SO TIGHT lately. I have my 28 week appointment in two weeks and I can't wait to see them just to be sure everything is okay. Is anyone else experiencing a tight belly? I do get BH once in a while and it's not that...it doesn't hurt (other than being uncomfortable) it's just so tight and heavy. I'm thinking it's just my stomach growing and I need to push more water...which isn't easy when I already feel like I am constantly going to pee my pants Smile Anyone else have this tigh belly feeling?

Re: Tight Belly

  • I have this too every now and again and I don't think it's BH because it can last for quite a while. I mentioned it to the Dr. and she didn't make it seem like it was an issue as long as I wasn't contracting or experiencing bleeding. She said sometimes too it could just be the way babies are positioned. For example: mine are very close together on my right side so I'm always really tight and hard more towards the right side of my body. And the other baby is literally laying head down on my already short cervix, which would explain the pressure feeling.

  • I have this almost all the time now, and especially at night after eating. I really have to watch my food intake since it gets worse if I feel full. My stomach feels like it can't grow anymore - it's a weird feeling. No contractions, just extremely tight and uncomfortable.

I haven't asked the doctor, but will next time I go. Some of the other girls in my prenatal yoga class have the same thing and they all have singletons so I don't think it is that unusual.

    Sucks though!

  • I have had this for most of my pregnancy. The Dr. is not concerned, and says it may have to do with the position of the babies. Mine are side by side. It is very uncomfortable and I notice it a lot if I have been more active.  I just try to take it easy when I feel that.

  • I feel this way towards mid to end of the day. I chalk it up to growing and stretching. It is unbearable if I eat too much lol.

  • I have it here and there.  I think it happens after a growth spurt or change in position and my stuff hasn't made way for them.  It usually goes away after a day (or if someone flips).

  • Yes!! All the time.  Feels like there's no way my belly can stretch anymore. My baby b is transverse and I feel like her head is going to pop out of my stomach sci-fi style!!  The only thing that gives me any relief is lying down.  :(
