person/people/thing that brings gifts to kids during the Christmas season?
How are you are planning on celebrating the holiday season? For example, in Spain traditionally the 3 Kings bring the gifts but now it seems that kids are also getting gifts from Santa.
Will kids believe in more than two things? Or wont they care as long as there are gifts?
Re: Do you only have Santa where you live or do you have another
In Germany Saint Nicholas traditionally comes in the night from Dec 5th to the 6th - the children leave a shoe outside the door and he fills it with candy. On Christmas Eve, it's supposedly baby Jesus who comes and brings the presents? In the more Catholic areas three kids come around dressed as the three kings on Epiphany and they get treats and bless the house (kind of like Halloween but only for 3 select kids from the local church).
We're still deciding on how exactly to do the Santa thing since DH's family is rather against it.

Why are they against it?
They don't like the idea of lying to children, which I can understand. Plus it's yet another American marketing/cultural thing being imported into Germany like Halloween and Valentine's Day.
We're definitely doing stockings on xmas morning, though, and in the US those will be from Santa, so I guess they will be here, too?

As far as I know they only have Santa in Scotland...but being it is our first holiday season here I could be completely wrong!
DH and I plan on having Santa bring the special, unique toys. Santa will bring one large toy each year and fill her stocking and we will have the smaller stuff be from us. This year Santa is bringing DD a rocking horse. We will assemble it and have it unwrapped under the tree.

We're in Italy. In some families baby Jesus replaces Santa but not ours or DH's. mil says its always been Santa at her house.
