how much do i leave

So tomorrow night is my husband's 30th birthday and the first time that we are going to be out during the time little man goes to bed. My mom is coming to keep him and she is wonderful with him and follows my guidelines. He goes down for naps easily, However i have always nursed him to bed for nighttime. I have no idea how many ounces he drinks during the day let alone for bedtime and with comfort sucking. So my question is how much should i leave in a bottle? any tips for my mom? We will be close by and if he doesn't go down i can always come home real quick.

    At 7 months?  Mine is only 4 months, so I'm not sure if this is right.  But I would do 4 oz in a bottle, but have another 1-2 ounces available if that isn't enough for him.  Just make sure your mom knows his cues.  For example, my LO always cries for a couple of minutes after finishing a bottle, but then quits.  If she kept crying more than a few minutes, she's probably still hungry so I would have my mom give her more.  Also, if your LO takes a paci, you might have mom try that to give him that chance to comfort suck.  GL and have a great time out!  Happy bday to YH!
