Postpartum Depression

medication question

Just stopping by to ask a question that has me curious.

I have a history of post partum and "regular" depression so I do know that I have a higher than normal odds of having post partum depression again.  I am currently about 22 week pg.

Based on previous history, I am unable to take SSRIs due to my body's reaction to them.  So now I'm curious, what non-SSRIs are prescribed for breastfeeding moms with PPD?

Thanks.

Re: medication question

  • Talk to ur dr. They will help
    lolololo
  • I also use a non-SSRI drug.  It is and old drug and has been studied a lot.  Trazodone.  I think it is bfeeding safe.  Look up any drug questions on LactMed...it is based on Dr. Hale's thoughts of meds and nursing.
PPD/PPA Mom...it has been super hard, but I'm making it! Slow steps...
