My partner and I have only been trying for nearly one cycle, my cycles are 45 days and AF isn't due for another 2 weeks. I decided to test yesterday because I've been felling icky for the past few days, my boobs are slightly tender (happens a week or less before AF) and I've been having a dull lower back ache that won't go away. As well as feeling more tired than usual. Also I've been really warm and I keep asking others around me if its hot or just me and so far its been just me.
I bought some dollar store tests (pink dye) and they've come up negative, I tested with my first pee this morning and it came up negative, tested again 4 hours later with an e.p.t test and it was positive, although faint you can see that its positive, same thing yesterday when I tested with the e.p.t during the day.
I read two conflicting things online, one that says blue dyes are notorious for false positives, the other being you can only get a positive if hcg is present in your ursine. When i tested the results showed within 3 minutes.
Anyone have a similar experience? How long should I wait to test again?.
Normally I wouldn't think twice once I got a negative result but with how I'm feeling currently its hard to shake the fact that I might be pregnant, this ickyness doesn't feel the same as being sick
Hope it isn't all in my head.
Got a BFP on 11/30/12 using FRER. The only thing I was charting was my cycle and according to that the day I tested + I was 8dpo (CD24). So sorry ladies that feel like I couldn't have possibly ovulated, proof is in the pee ![]()

IMO I wouldn't keep wasting money on tests and would wait to test since your AF isn't late.

Also, if your period isn't normally "due" for another two weeks you might be ovulating now - many women on here experience similar symptoms as you are when they are in their fertile window. I would definitely continue having sex. Good luck!
Blue dye tests suck. Also, if you aren't expecting AF for almost two weeks, wouldn't you have just ovulated, being way too early to test +.
I know others have already suggested it, but you should chart your basal body temperature (BBT) through Fertility Friend. It's the only way, without a docotor, to confirm ovulation and actually know when AF is supposed to show and when AF is late.
This is exactly what I was going to say.
This. GL!
It's true that you can't get a positive without HCG in your system, I think. Blue tests aren't reliable, but it's a fault in the way the dye processes, I think, not in that it's misreading anything.
yes it is 2 weeks before my expected period but I have 45 day cycles so its very possible I ovulated earlier than expected. I did read that women can ovulate anywhere from 7 to 21 days after a new cycle starts.
Possible, but actually, more accurate is that you O 10-18 (most commonly 12-14)days before your period. So if you have a 45 day cycle, most likely, you would O around CD33. You wouldn't be able to detect HCG until at least probably 10 days after that, so CD43.

uh huh.

Yes, the time it takes to ovulate varies. But the time after O to your period typically does not. It's usually 12 - 16 days. That's why people were wondering why in heck you'd take a pregnancy test 2 weeks before your period is due. You must have ovulated waaaay earlier this cycle.
Congrats.
Yep, but on a side note..am I the only one that thought this movie was horrible?
Me! Didn't get the hype at all.
I'm just glad we picked it up from the Redbox, at least we were only out $1 and a Sat. night after dinner.
