So we ordered our crib, dresser, convertible rails, and glider all from penny's about three weeks ago. The day after we ordered, they called and told us the crib is on backorder until 1/20- I am due 1/16 (even though the website said in stock and STILL says in stock). Ok fine, we don't need the crib right when she's born, but as long as I had the dresser and rocker we could at least get some things put away, like all of her clothing.
So yesterday I call JCP and ask about my dresser since I haven't been contacted about a delivery time and they said I would be contacted by 11/26. They tell me that because it was all placed in one order, the dresser will be held until the crib is in stock. WHAT!? I am due in 7 weeks and this was JCP's fault- NOT mine. I asked why they can't split the shipment and they said they would have to cancel my entire order which would make the crib backorder date move to the end of the line. They had NO solutions for me. I told them had I known that the crib had been on backorder I could've placed two separate orders since shipping is free for me regardless! They didn't care, they said that is their policy.
So now my only choice is to reorder the dresser separately, pay for it again, then refuse shipment on the dresser that comes with the crib. Thanks for nothing JCP- way to be customer friendly! If you are ordering your furniture from them, make sure to call first to see if it is in stock. I ordered my 1st daughters crib from here and did not have this trouble- I am so disappointed!

So sorry you are going through such a hassle with them! May I suggest you call again & speak to someone else. I have had instances where I call one time and I get told one thing & then I call again and they are able to help me.
I don't see why you can't just get what they have currently.
