  We just recently purchased a home and this was our "musts."

  -Master bedroom with own bathroom

  - Atleast 3 bedrooms 

  - 2 car garage

  - A large basement (we ended up getting a large unfinished basement)

  - At least 1/2 an acre of land (we got 3/4 of an acre, fenced in)

  - Large eat-in kitchen

   

  We ended up getting everything on our list except the 2 car garage. We had to compromise on some things because our budget was 200K. We ended up with a ranch, 3 bedroom, 2 full bath. It needed some work but we liked that because we were able to make it "our own." Since we bought it for 15K under budget we had some wiggle room. Good luck on the house hunting!!

  We're house hunting now and our must have list has changed as our search has gone on.  But right now, it's at least 3 BR, 2 full baths, a family room (which would double as a guest room), decent size flat yard OR a smaller yard, but location very close to the park, walkable to the train station, a bigger kitchen or a smaller kitchen with an open to dining room layout, newer non-wood windows.  I have a few cosmetic preferences that aren't must haves, but I would love to have. I love older homes, so I'd love a stone or brick colonial with original wood trims and molding.

  Nice big kitchen.  Master bathroom.  toy room or play room so all the toys aren't in the LO's bedroom....this drives me crazy.  No neighbors )

  I want a bigger kitchen, a dining room, garage, at least 4 bedrooms, separate tub and shower in master bath, I'd like a 2 story so all the toys can stay upstairs and out of the living room and the bedrooms are not right off the LR like they are in our current house, no major updates (so move in ready), fenced yard for our dog, DH and I have been working on a list as our next home will hopefully be our forever home.

  Walk in pantry, large basement, master bath with large soaking tub with separate shower, 3 car garage or 2 car with storage shed.

  I just posted my house hunting experience!blogs.babycenter.com/mom_stories/11...I'm a first time mom. I'm leaning toward school district and space. Flow of the house is really important, too.  We just put an offer on a house with water damage and I'm afraid of mold and other surprises that won't be caught during the inspection.If you have a sec, could you please read my blog and comment with recommendations if you've been in this situation? I'm a little freaked out!  Thanks!
