I am12weeks pregnant with my second child and moving back to long island in 2 weeks. Anyone have a recommendation for a dr or hospital in the Smithtown area. I was thinking of stony brook or st Catherine's not sure which is better. Thanks
I just had my first baby at St. Catherine's and I have to say their nurses were amazing. Being first time parents they went out of their way to give us tips on how to care for the baby. In comparison to my friends who have given birth at other hospitals, my experience was the best. I know there are only about a half dozen practices that deliver there. Maybe you can call the hospital to get that list. My Doctors are Halpers/Sommers (Personal Women's Care) in Smithtown. I had a great experience and I feel the Doctors did everything that was right for me and my baby. Good luck and Congratulations!
I have been going to Contemporary Women's Care in Smithtown, but I am so bummed that they are going to be moving to Islandia at the beginning of December. It's not a huge deal, but the Smithtown location was so convenient for me. They had been affiliated with St. Catherine's of Sienna and Stony Brook, but now they will be transitioning to North Shore LIJ at South Side.
I will say that I absolutely love my doctor. Dr. McKenna is the best, and he even called me from his cellphone to give me some test results when the office was closed for Hurricane Sandy.
Googlemaps says that the new office is only 5 more minutes away, so hopefully it won't be too much of a hassle.
