New to the boards. I have an almost 8 year old daughter from a previous relationship. I'm newly married (September 2012) and have had "Baby on the Brain" practically since we got engaged.
We know now is not the time to start TTC, as we want to purchase a home first and be settled. But I do get envious when others announce they are TTC or Expecting. But I know our time will come.
In the meantime, I'm just looking for creative outlets for me to channel my energies until then. I've recently started utilizing Pinterest more. Trying crafts or recipes, etc. We have a puppy so I get to play mommy to him.
Anyone have any other creative solutions to get me through the next 6-9 months before we hope to purchase? TIA
Re: Newbie (no pot stirring here, though)

I'm pretty sure this should be over in the TTGP board, just FYI. Good luck!

Learn a few sewing techniques. I was really happy when I figured out how easily and CHEAP I could sew valances and curtains for our house. It made a big difference in our decor.
Watch youtube videos on dog training. My puppy got a few of the tricks down quickly because of the things I learned from videos.

Thanks everyone!
Yes, we are in the process of planning DD's birthday party. Although for some reason she's been super low key this year with EVERYTHING and its so hard to plan when she doesnt want much. I suppose I should count my blessings now, as the teenage years are right around the corner.
I love the idea of learning to sew and make things for the house we are currently in! I fear if i prepare too much for a future house i may drive my husband mad. I have zero patience for waiting to look and save, and he has all the patience in the world. . And i love the idea of getting the puppy more trained by incorporating YouTube videos!
Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm hoping to become more active around here! Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
This. Good luck!!
