Placenta Encapsulation

Hi Ladies,

I plan to ask my midwife, but I just wanted to see if anybody here had any experience with this.

My Mom asked me if I was going to have my placenta encapsulated, I told her no, I didn't have any interest in it. She asked if I have ever heard of other people taking the placenta pills. Long story short, she is trying to quit smoking, every time she does she gets depressed, but does not want to take any sort of anti depressants and was thinking that maybe my placenta could be a natural solution for her. I'd have no problem with her having it. I'm wondering is it okay for somebody else with a different blood type etc to take the pills? Do you think it could help her?

I did it and took the pills myself. I have never heard of someone else taking the pills. I do not think blood typing would be an issue with your mother taking the pills, since the placenta is cooked/dehydrated before encapsulation so this destroys blood cells. I do not know if it would really help your mothers depression though. I would ask your midwife about it to see what she thinks.

I did and will likely again. I have bipolar disorder and was at risk for PPD. It did seem to help for awhile, but unfortunately I had to go back on my meds at 5 months pp. I have never heard of taking someone else's placenta, but you might want to ask a placental encapsulation specialist about it.

The nutrients and hormones in placenta are good for everyone, but they are specifically for you. I share my placenta tincture with our papa bear >< we are odd. But it helps! Energy, hormonal imbalance, depression, etc
