MZBR

I never go back and check posts I've commented on, so I'm not sure if you do, so here's my answer:

His pediatrician ordered a stool test for occult blood and white blood cell count. I think he ordered another culture too, but I don't have the paper on me. He's had diarrhea for four days now, sometimes green, always full of mucus. Now, he has eczema on his arm. He's always been colicky, from day one, but we thought it was reflux. Apparently now, we have an entirely different animal to deal with.

We did try Alimentum for one day when he was about 4 weeks old because I had a suspicion that he had a milk allergy. He took it fine all day and then violently vomited it ALL up at the end of the day, which is why I'm a little hesitant to switch to formula. He's had two bottles of formula his whole life and reacted really badly to both (they were two different kinds).

Hope your LO feels better soon!

Re: MZBR

  • Thanks for the reply. This whole issue is so frustrating! Knowing you just want your little one to feel better and can not make it happen. We have been on Similac sensitive and BM for 2 days now and she seems better. Thinking about transitioning to 100 formula for a few days see how she does. Then just do 1 or 2 bottles of bM until my stash is out have fair amount frozen and still pumping twice a day. If the BM doesn't settle i think i will donate it.My little girl is very temperamental so sometimes I have a hard time knowing what is discomfort and what is drama or a little of both. Dropped off DD fecal test today and nurse called back in an hour! Only 1 of 3 had a very small trace amount of blood in it. And none since the switch from regular Similac to sensitive. So I just hope we are headed in the right direction. Wishing your little one well soon! Let me know if I can help in anyway!

  • That's awesome news! We have to hold out until Tuesday for the results. It will suck if he is allergic...I have 2,500 ounces frozen. That's not a bump mobile error...almost three THOUSAND ounces...what am I going to do with all of that FFS?! I will donate it, of course, but I didn't suffer in EPing hell for the past three months to feed someone else's baby, KWIM? It is so frustrating. I don't know if I want to do the formula thing...I would hate to constantly have to switch. I have a friend who had to switch nine times! too frustrating on top of everything else. Idk what we'll be doing, we'll just have to see. Thanks!

  • I know right! Live the idea that donation means it doesn't go to waste but knowing you did all that work and your little one will not benefit from it anymore is irritating!
