Tall baby question

So...at our 3 month appointment yesterday, my son is 16lbs 8oz and 25 inches long.   He is barely fitting into his carseat now..which goes up to 30 lbs but I also read that it's also 30 inches.   I really thought he would be in that seat for longer than 3 months but I guess he takes after his tall father!! lol  We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 and also the stroller base for it.  Which means, if we need a new carseat...we need a new stroller.    Did anyone else have a baby that grew out of their car seat so early and if they did what did you get to replace it?

    You can keep the stroller and get a convertible car seat.  Of course you won't be able to snap in the seat, but anything else you'd find he'd outgrow pretty quickly.

    Convertible car seat. Good for infant/toddler and can be rear facing. You won't be able to carry it around like an infant car seat or snap it into the stroller but it'll be safe! As for the stroller your baby may like the stroller seat better. I know Chloe prefers the stroller seat to the car seat.

    DS is 26", 15 lb 10 oz at 4 months.  He's been averaging about an inch per month, so he should still fit in his infant seat for a few more months. (His infant seat also goes up to 30" or 30 lb.)  Once he outgrows his infant seat, we'll continue using the stroller from the travel system.  We purchased a convertible car seat, so we'll switch to that either when DS gets too big for his infant sear or when we get tired of carrying him in the infant seat.

    DS outgrew his carseat at 4.5 months.  He had a super long torso.  Luckily he was starting to sit at that point, but for a short while we kept the carrier in the car and he only used it at restaurants/shopping, but actually rode in a convertible car seat (make sure to get a tall shell like a Radian, that rear faces).

    Also, I'd say you have at least another 3-5 months.  Babies grow about an inch per month.  The thing to watch is his shoulders and how far his head is from the top of the shell.  Don't look at the feet.

    This....I figure Amir will grow out of his by 6 or 7 months. Then um moving to a convertible. My daughter grew out of hers by 6 months
