Ok so the last one got me thinking...
Real tree or fake?
For me it's real in the living room always. Going to get the tree is a BIG family affair my grandma who's 86 still comes, aunts uncles, siblings. It's almost better than Christmas in my opinion. We do have a fake on the porch and fiber optic ones in each bed room.
Most unique decoration?
We have a full size leg lamp from the movie A Christmas Story!! Dh loves that movie, we also have the dept 56 village to match.
What is your must make every Christmas??
I bake tons of cookies every year. Plus Christmas diner must be ham with ham gravy mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole.
Re: GTKY Christmas part 2
Real tree or fake? - I don't have a choice it has to be fake. I'm allergic to real trees. One year my sister and I convinced my parents to try a real one. It made us all so sick we had to throw it out before Christmas.
We had presents under a nativity scene that year.
Most unique decoration? I love that you have a leg lamp! We don't have anything too unique. My family always put four penguins on the tree. One year we decided to dedicate each penguin for ourselves. When I got married my Mom gave me my penguin for my tree. I hope to find similiar penguins for DH, A and my brother-in-law so that we can continue the tradition.
What is your must make every Christmas?? We always make cookies and eat them for breakfast while we open gifts. Not the healthiest tradition. lol. Then dinner is always prime rib.
Real tree or fake? Real. I love the smell of pine tree in the house, it's worth the mess of cleaning up needles. I'll be so sad if any of my kids are allergic to real trees
Most unique decoration? dh has a popcorn decoration he made in grade 2. It still has 23 year old popcorn on it.
What is your must make every Christmas?? Apple crisp and bacon wrapped chestnuts! Mmmmm. Christmas dinner is turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots and stuffing.

Most unique decoration? Nothing too unique here. We like to hunt and fish so a majority of our ornaments are this theme.
What is your must make every Christmas?? Cheese balls and my mom always makes candy....peanut butter balls, fudge, coconut balls.
Most unique decoration? Nothing really unique but I have been collecting snowman ornaments since I was a kid so I can decorate my whole tree in snowmen if I wanted to. I also still have the ornaments I got/made as a kid so some of them are really old.
What is your must make every Christmas? Shortbread cookies. Dinner is always turkey, mashed potatoes, turnip, stuffing, and peas. My mil even makes two kinds of peas because I don't like canned peas.
I like this GTKY! good call belle!
real tree or fake? Fake for us right now... its just so much easier with 3 dogs (one being a great dane) that needles don't fall off of, because they all like to eat what falls on the floor. that and the one we have is pre-lit, so that helps a ton too lol
most unique decoration... I don't think its unique, but I have an 18" ceramic christmas tree that my grandma made that you decorate it with little ornament lights and plug it in... I have put it up every year at her house, and earlier this year so moved in with my dad for better care, and she gave it to me to start putting up in my home.
must make... nothing really... I want to start something this year (no idea yet) We have never done christmas at our home, but are starting this year with my MIL side of the family... so we will see...
Most unique decoration? A few years ago, DH and I spotted this cheesy light up fiber optic angel for the top of the tree and we had to have it! It's actually a pretty classy looking angel until you plug it in and it starts changing colors, lol. We love it and I think it will become a special part of Christmas for DS.
What is your must make every Christmas?? I used to make a Christmas Yule Log cake, but then I started working in a bakery and lost interest in Christmas baking because it felt too much like work. This year I'm a SAHM, so I'm really looking forward to baking again. I miss it now.
Most unique decoration? My grandma makes each of us a stocking when we are born or marry into our family. Everyone's stocking has the same santa pattern with our names on top, but each stocking is a different green and red based on what was in style that year. They have also changed sizes over the years. I love seeing them all lined up when my parents come. They go back 57 years.
What is your must make every Christmas? Cookies. You can never have too many cookies!!!!!
Real tree or fake?
REAL! not such a big deal... DH and I usually go and pick up 3 (our 'rents as well) which usually makes for a nice deal!
Most unique decoration?
My wrapping (does this count? lol)... every year i go to great lengths to get a fabulous theme with ribbon and matching tags... DH is NOT allowed to use my stuff LOL, he was hurt at first but how he realizes it's better that way. haha
What is your must make every Christmas??
We have a BOMB breakfast christmas morning... all of DH's family and my lil sisters come over and we make breakfast soufle (bread, eggs, milk, tons of cheese bake it in water tray YUM) and fried dough! It's bomb and it's tradition!
: ) great post i love reading these!
Real tree or fake? Fake. I have no sentimental desire for a real one. We buy pine scented candles because I do love that smell
Most unique decoration? I'm kinda partial to the baby blue stocking ornament with Lincoln's name written on it.
What is your must make every Christmas? I've never been a baker, but I plan on making cookies to leave out for Santa.
As far as unique decorations go. I did make my own advent calender. And i made a wreath. :
As far as must makes. I always make my pumpkin cheesecae during the holidays and i love making miniature zucchini loafs and giving them out. As far as making dinner we will make a big deal out of it as our little family grows. We never did before cause we always went to our parents house
