I know there is a whole board for this but I was just curious if any of you are struggling with weight loss and need some extra motivation as I do. May be fun to share recipes or menus...

Lets come up with a plan for support. Any ideas? I have always been fairly normal in weight but lost a lot on the paleo diet years ago. Since my wife came into my life, my success in this n some other areas has faltered. She tends to eat all carbs n not care much about her health or weight... I desperately want to do better for me and my daughter.

I'm trying to cut out aspartame, and drastically reduce both sugar and wheat for our TTC phase as well as any potential pregnancy....   I'm a bit fat (no point in glossing it over!) and my glucose levels are high (though not pre-diabetic...yet) -- so I figure there is no time like the present to healthy up my eating and lose some weight.

My partner and I are on a bit of a split-pea soup kick - if you guys like that.  It's hearty, thick, we make it without grains or much salt --and it's pretty tasty.   I've taken to both eating it on rice, and by itself with a sandwich on the side if I want something more filling.

I'm also totally into black beans these days - with everything.  On salads with rice and salsa, with chicken, with eggs.  I find they're great and filling, without also having a ton of fat in them, or make me miss bread.

.... Still trying to break my Diet Coke addition though....
