I try to keep it as dry as possible.. But this kid is a drooling machine... Is desitin ok to use? I'm going to ask the pedi I work for tomorrow [not LO doctor.. But still doctors i trust]
If it is a yeast rash you can treat it with lotrimin or monostat. We had to do this a couple of months ago and it worked well. Since then, we have been using CJ's Butter on his neck periodically as a preventative measure and haven't had any other issues.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment. It's a miracle! My LO had a rash in her neck from formula dripping in there and I put the aquaphor on....within hours it was showing improvement. By the next day it had disappeared.

Cooper had the same thing. I used some desitin, kept it dry and added a little baby powder before bed to keep anything from soaking in there overnight. Be careful though the desitin and baby powder make a paste... lol.

I use Desitin - this has happened to my little guy twice. Don't use baby powder, since it is made of cornstarch. If the area does have yeast, yeast feeds off off things like cornstarch and it can get worse.
Re: Rash in neck roll.
I don't think it's a yeast infection. It's just red and irritated.
Nope. Just red.
We have the same problem... Just really red. I've been using aquaphor and trying to keep it as dry as possible.
