meaknigh

meaknigh-you posted the pics of your sons pre/post surgery. Im curious what the arm immobilizers were for? Are they just to keep LO from touching his face?

Re: meaknigh

  • Yep :) Not only do they not want him to scratch at any of the stitches, he also had a true rhinoplasty (essentially a nose job) so any wacking or rubbing could undo some of their precious work. He likes to be swaddled, so he only has to wear them when he's out of his swaddle (car seat, swing, etc)

  •  my LO is just starting that phase where shes wanting to touch everything and have her hands in her mouth alot so it would really irritate her to have her arms immobilized, so thats awesome that your LO likes being swaddled and doesn't totally hate not having his hands free

  • Meaknigh, how long is the healing process for Hughitt?

  • It's different for each child. He has to wear the arm immobilizes until we see the doctor next Friday at the very least. He said it shouldn't take more than three weeks for the incisions to heal. Fingers crossed that we get the green light at our appointment next week!
